Make your own Wingstop-style Voodoo Fries at home with crispy seasoned fries, creamy cheese sauce, and a drizzle of ranch - perfect for game day or a fun side dish.

  • 1 package frozen French fries 28 ounces or similar

Seasonings

  • teaspoons light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • teaspoon chili powder
  • teaspoon black pepper

Cheese Sauce

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Toppings

  • 3 tablespoons ranch dressing

Instructions

  • Preheat oven according to French fries package instructions, Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, aluminum foil, or a silpat mat.
  • Combine all seasonings in a small bowl.
    1½ teaspoons light brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika, ¼ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon chili powder, ⅛ teaspoon black pepper, ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Arrange French fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the seasoning mix across the top, but save about ½ a teaspoon for later. Toss to coat.

  • Cook fries according to package instructions.
  • While the French fries are cooking, prepare your cheese sauce. Start by melting the better in a small pot over medium-high heat.
    2 tablespoons butter
  • Whisk in flour, then cook for one minute to thicken. Then whisk in the milk.

  • Slowly add the shredded cheddar cheese in small batches, stirring continuously as the cheese melts, until all of the cheese has been incorporated. Place on a warming burner, or turn you burner to the lowest setting, to keep the sauce warm. (Make sure it doesn't burn!)
    2 cups cheddar cheese
  • Serve the French fries with the cheese sauce and the ranch dressing drizzled over the top. Finish by sprinkling the remaining seasoning on top.
